We had a great week, even if we all felt a little sick and none of the kids seem to be sleeping through the night right now. At least we were all together. With the arrival of little Ainsley has come increased demand for everyone to work together and there's much less time to argue or get caught up in the little things. Amy and I have been impressed with how our kids have actually stepped up to the challenge and helped where they can. Both Ashtyn and Alyssa seem to enjoy holding little Ainsley! Ashtyn even volunteered to wash Ainsley's bottles once! (Amy and I were both shocked about this one!) As for little Jantzen, well, this week, he discovered why he felt a little out of place --> his little sister was taking away his "mommy-time"! He has not been aggressive towards Ainsley at all, and seems to love to feed her bottles on occasion, but he would much rather have Mommy hold him then to see little Ainsley in her arms!!
Today, we found the time to finally start carving our pumpkins that we picked while Grandpa & Grandma were here. The girls love this tradition. Amy and I still laugh when the celebrate their pumpkins by saying, "Look at the pumpkins we carved!", when in reality, they didn't really want to touch them and Amy and I did all the carving!! But, it's fun, and the kids did get to choose what we carved.

The finished product --> a kitty for Alyssa and a witch for Ashtyn! (They look better with candles in them at night! :))
Finally, we felt that we must post one of the many photos that our girls like to take with the camera. Whenever they get a chance to play with the digital camera, they run to there toys, set them up in various poses, then shoot TONS of pictures of them. I'm so glad that we live in the digital world and I don't have to pay to have all of these pictures developed!!! The following picture appears to be a group of horses and white tigers (along with some polar bears and panthers) paying their respects to three prized horses that have been decorated with stickers. Quite creative, don't you think?

That is an awesome animal parade!
Jason,
I loved your family update about Halloween and pumpkin carving. My kids do the same thing with the digital camera and they're 14 and almost 12! Well, they don't take pics of prancing ponies, but yeah...they love to take their own pics of whatever. And videos too. Fun, fun!
