Well, this is my second time writing up this post since Jantzen just came by the computer and erased my previous post with a touch of a button! You just have to love kids!
I really enjoyed general conference this weekend and was touched by many of the sweet and well thought-out messages from the general authorities of the church. I was most impacted by a talk on Saturday night by Elder Scott. He spoke of the important of being grateful to our spouses for the many sacrifices that they make. I realized during this talk that I have been very un-grateful all year long. I have made a resolution to change that weakness of mine and be more grateful not only to the Lord for all of the blessings that he provides, but also to those around me, in particular, my sweet Amy, who really sacrifices everything for our little family. With so much work travel this year, it has been difficult to consistently show my gratitude to Amy and I resolve to do better, even through all of the travel and hectic activities of life!
I have to run to a meeting at church, but before I do, I want to relate a funny story from yesterday. For lunch, Amy made brussel sprouts and we all enjoyed them, except for Alyssa. But, to earn her dessert, she stuffed the brussel sprout in her mouth. Now, Alyssa has a bad habit of not swallowing her food, so we told her that she had to swallow her sprout before she could have dessert. Well, we cleaned the dishes and went on to other activities. About 50 minutes later, I was talking to Alyssa, and she STILL had the sprout in her mouth and she was still chewing it. GROSS!! Don't you just love kids!!

Allen mentioned that talk as well. You and Amy are lucky to have each other. I'm sure she appreciates your expression of gratitude. Sometimes all of our hard work at home goes unnoticed and it's nice to hear appreciation! Good for you!
