Although we didn't have any snow on the front range, the weather was very wet and wintery. I'm sure the mountains have received a nice helping of the white stuff. It's actually nice to feel a little chill in the air, but I'm excited to get warmer temperatures this week. Not quite ready for winter to attack yet.
It has been a very busy week, but it has been really nice to be home and not traveling. I have probably spent about 25 hours at church this past week in addition to some pretty long hours of work. Although the church hours were long, it was nice to serve and I have a new appreciation for the importance of consistent daily prayer and scripture study. It's very important to stay in tune with the will of the Lord! Work was pretty good as well, but extra busy. In fact, they re-organized the lab again and created two different "portfolios", once focused on Intellectual Property and the other on Chip design execution. I'm in the chip design portfolio and it is a very good change for my team. They also opened up two section manager postions (2nd-level managers) and I have put my name in for one of the spots. I'm not sure if I'll get it, but I'm going to try. It is definitely going to make for an exciting couple of weeks, regardless of the outcome!
The kids are doing really great! Jantzen has decided in the last couple of days that he prefers walking to crawling and has been walking all over the house. He's very proud of himself. Amy has been feeling a little sick this week and unfortunately much of the night on Friday in the bathroom. Luckily, she felt better in the morning and was able to help out Angela King (a close OB/GYN doctor friend) with a free mamogram clinic that was being held in honor of breast cancer awaremess month. It was really great for Amy to spend some time with many of her nurse and doctor friends and to spend time AWAY from the kids. I had the kids from morning until about 3pm, then I took Ashtyn and Alyssa to see a couple of friends get baptized. They really enjoyed it. It was really nice for Amy to have some time to herself. She definitely deserves it.
Well, it's time to say prayers and hit the sack! Another busy week is coming up, but will fill in the details next week.
