An Announcement!

The most important news we have to share this week is that we are expecting a new baby the first week of October! Things have been going pretty well. Amy went to the doctor this week and heard the heartbeat so we are letting the news out. Amy thinks it will be a boy and a happy little brother for Jantzen. Alyssa is sticking with wanting a girl. She says Jantzen needs a sister.....although he already has two! We think Jantzen has WAY enough sisters and that's why he can't say anything yet. He never gets a chance to get a word in!

At any rate, we are most excited and are looking forward to a really fun summer with the kids before we have another big life change. Ashtyn will also start first grade this fall, so it will be a "double whammy", if you will, for her. But Amy can't think about that just yet because she will miss her too much!

We enjoyed Spring Break in Utah, visiting our brand new nephew and throwing Jennica's bridal shower. We would've enjoyed it a little more if Jason hadn't had to jet off to Singapore at the last minute. So, he was in the sunny paradise and working his tail off inside all day, and we were in the snowy cold playing at Grandma's inside, but wanting to go out! Luckily, he was only delayed once and made it back in time for baby Ivin's blessing on Sunday and to drive back home with us on Monday.

The week has been off for us, trying to get back into the groove. Ashtyn has been enjoying soccer and would've had to miss her first game yesterday due to illness; however, they cancelled all games due to our freezing snow and blizzard-like winds. Good idea. It rained all night on Friday, a lovely sound for us as we don't experience it too often. On Saturday we awoke to icicles on the trees and blowing snow. It turned out to be more blowy than snowy, with our neighbors to the north (Cheyenne) taking the brunt of the blizzard we were expecting with five foot drifts in places. We still enjoyed being holed up in our warm home all cozy and watching General Conference together.

Alyssa got into the preschool at Ashtyn's school for two afternoons in the fall and she is very excited. She will be the smartest in her class at the rate she is learning things by imitating Ashtyn. She is very motivated and is my cooking buddy. We have lots of fun in the kitchen together. Jantzen LOVES the train that goes behind our house and waits for it every morning at breakfast. He's up to about five consistent words now, but understanding everything and it is much less frustrating. He is beginning to tease us and he loves it! They are all so fun!
