Ashtyn Rides Without Training Wheels

I never knew how exciting it would be as a parent to watch your child learn how to ride a bike without training wheels. Ashtyn's smile and excitement nearly brought tears to my eyes the first time she took off and went about 15 feet on her own. We she stopped, we started singing a silly little song together and we danced around for about 2-3 minutes. It was a memory that will last a lifetime! The trick for her was to take her to a completely flat basketball court. She picked it up in no time. We made no progress on our neighborhood sidewalks and streets since they are all pitched to shed water. She found it too difficult to keep her balance. But the flat surface gave her the confidence that she needed and now, she's been on a couple of bike rides of greater than 3 miles. She loves it!

Here's the Brown family, about to take off on a bike ride, (with a bunch of neighbor kids wanting to go along). Amy's showing off the new little one as well! :)
