It was August 13th, 2009, already a full month ago, when Ashtyn started her 1st day of the 1st grade! She absolutely loves school, even if she gets a ton of homework on Monday's and Tuesday's! She also has a spelling test to study for each Friday, but she's doing great and she's finally into the routine of going to school everyday. (Actually, she was into the routine on day 1 --> it just took her parents a little while to get into the routine!)
Ashtyn's teacher is Mrs. Rizzo, and she's been teaching for 30 years. She retires this year and she is an incredible teacher. Ashtyn likes her and we love her! She's very strict and works with the kids on discipline and hard work. It's going to be a great year. In just one month, we've already noticed how Ashtyn has improved as a reader, a writer, and she actually enjoys Math a little (but she won't admit it!)
