Once again, Nana spoiled all of the grandchildren by making the annual trek to Build-A-Bear. Takes guts, I say. Ashtyn is in the background there with Nahanni (good name, eh?) the border collie.
Alyssa chose her favorite animal, a beautiful panda. Aubrey enjoyed watching the fluffing machine.
Since there were no "manly" animals this time around, I was able to talk Jantzen into this fierce little dragon.....small frys, as they are called, and served up in a french-fry-looking cardboard container. Wierd? Maybe, but he enjoyed the dragon. He was about set on a rainbow-colored peace-sign teddy bear. "Thank you! Thank you!" said his Daddy, who was out golfing at the time. Yes, I had to protect the boy-integrity of the little dude for his own good and his daddy's pride.
This is little cousin Tyler, 3, who is aptly showing his age and his "boyness" and the result of a few long days of lots of rough boy-playing with Jantzen. They had such a fun time together with their trucks and new cars from Nana.
After lunch with Jason's long-time friends, we went to the Discovery museum since we have a membership that is good nationwide and it was FREE! We love FREE! It is always a fun place and great to talk with the kids about science and let them learn stuff while they're having fun and they don't even know that they are learning!
Cute sisters pose! Note the chic new glasses sported by Ashtyn. She's done great at remembering to wear them and take care of them.
Ashtyn says she's not afraid of heights anymore.
Building cool towers and using wind power to keep lightweight balls aloft. Science is COOL!
Shopping for fake food is fun because it is FREE and you can buy whatever you want and lump it all together.
Those are some really large teeth! Wonder what kind of brush this guy needs to use!
Nothing so charming as kids sitting on a large set of teeth! Maybe you'll see this one in the Christmas card!
Traditionally, we get ice cream at the shop right by the museum and today was no exception, except that Jason ordered a LARGE shake this time and it came out with about a 1/2 gallon of ice cream in it! Miraculously, we met up with Jason's dad as we drove up the interstate together towards home and we had him pull over and eat the other half for Jason. Miraculous because Papaw said he was about to faint from starvation. That would've put a damper on the trip so we're glad the Lord put us there and he could be saved from fainting and wrecking on the interstate!
